Cruising the Canals

The nautical theme continues at MOSSLEY CRT, where we left Royton in the morning to meet up with fellow riders, to ride along the Rochdale Canal towards Littleborough. We came off the canal just before Smithy Bridge to “circumnavigate” Hollingworth Lake before resting at the visitors centre for the obligatory “cafe” stop.We returned along the canal viewing the many barges navigating the locks and seeing families of swans and cygnets, before arriving back at Royton. Thanks to the riders who came along Fred, Mike, Karen, Tom, Liz, Yasmin, together with first timer Jessica.

What a great day to have a bike ride.Sun, sea and a great views of North Wales. The riders experienced the North Wales Coastal Route, meeting at Prestatyn and riding along this lovely route to Rhos on Sea.The cafe stop at Tides cafe (aptley named) was a welcome break, where the riders all enjoyed their refreshments and to the surprise to everyone, Fred DIDN’T have a cake. The newer members of the club enjoyed their first official ride and expressed their excitement and wanted to know when the next ride will be organised. We all arrived back safely at Prestatyn and with one poignant note “DON’T FORGET YOUR GLOVES”
Riders that attended were Tom, Andy, Sam, Jacob, Annie, Madison, Alan, Liz, Yasmin, Fred, Karen &  Mike.
